Parassala is a small village at the southern end of Kerala bordering Tamil Nadu. The village has an ambience plush with tall black palmyra palm trees. As of 2001, the village had a population of 33,556. Prof. Parassala B. Ponnammal , the octogenarian lady music wizard, who made a historical event by becoming the First Lady Singer in the famous Navarathri Mandapam of Thiruvananthapuram is the popular figure of Parassala.
There is a famous Christian church in Parassala -Abbs Memorial Church that nearly built in 1880.
